Students Shoe Harvest Service Projects For Credit

Seattle High School Senior Service Project OpportunityHigh school students interested in serving their communities while meeting their 60 hour service learning requirements can now get credit through holding a Redeeming Soles Shoe Harvest event.

What is a Shoe Harvest?

Redeeming Soles provides footwear to local Seattle area organizations that serve the homeless and underprivileged. Many of these shoes are obtained through shoe drives called Shoe Harvest. We encourage students to become involved at making a difference in surrounding Seattle area communities through collecting new and used shoes for those in need.

What is required?

Individuals will need to locate drop off locations at their school, local businesses or with organizations. Set dates, times (normally 1 – 2 weeks) and location for the Shoe Harvest and signup at the Redeeming Soles website. A Redeeming Soles team member will contact you and then you can begin marketing the Shoe Harvest event using our printable Shoe Harvest flyers or use the logos provided and create your own custom flyers. Distribute the flyers in your community.

Be prepared for an exciting and rewarding service opportunity as many communities have responded very warmly to Shoe Harvest events. As the shoes start rolling in begin to sort them according to gender and once the event has ended arrange for a time to deliver the shoes to the Redeeming Soles Distribution Center.

We ask that you stop by our distribution center for a tour of the facility and learn about our operations prior to your Shoe Harvest event.

Interested individuals can signup with the form below or for more information email us at shoeharvestproject@redeemingsoles.org .
